University of Florida’s Most Hateful

The University of Florida is one of few universities to discipline students arrested as part of pro-Palestinian protests beyond a slap on the wrist.

In April, Allan Frasheri was among nine people arrested during a demonstration on the University of Florida campus.

Frasheri, 20, is a philosophy major from Dunedin, Florida. He was suspended for four years and issued a trespass that prohibits him from entering campus until the suspension ends.

Frasheri is the only one of the bunch to be charged with a felony for battery on a police officer. Prosecutors accused Frasheri of spitting on an officer “as she was helping a state trooper walk away with another protester under arrest,” according to WUFT.

Frasheri’s mother told WUFT he was a child “every mother wishes for” and that he is not a dangerous person. This is what happens when dangerous rhetoric leads to actual physical danger.

“The University of Florida is not a daycare, and we do not treat protesters like children – they knew the rules, they broke the rules, and they’ll face the consequences,” police spokesman Steve Orlando in a statement.
